Kdun Albaz

Kdun Albaz is a musical performer based in Dubai, originally from Jordan, and educated in the USA. A self-taught drummer and percussionist, he is passionate about exploring new rhythms and melodies. In 2011, Kdun discovered the handpan, a unique instrument known for its enchanting and haunting acoustics. The handpan is shaped like a pan and is generally played with the hands and fingers instead of mallets. Its sound can resemble a harp, bells, or a harmonically tuned instrument.

Kdun is one of the few accomplished handpan players and the first in the world to create a new genre of music that blends modern styles and rhythms with culturally themed melodies, incorporating both traditional and contemporary instruments. As a 21st-century world musician, he composes and produces his own original tracks.

Kdun’s latest musical project, "City Vibes," is the result of his collaboration with musicians from over 13 countries, gathered in Dubai, a cosmopolitan musical hub. His performances are diverse, often incorporating programmed and electronic music that he creates live. Kdun has performed at various high-profile events, including celebrity and VIP parties, festivals, and corporate or charitable occasions. His sophisticated use of technology enhances the unique nature of his performances, whether he plays solo or collaborates with other artists.
